10 Tips To Better Health
by Dr. L. A. Bartell
Good health is the best form of wealth
. . the healthy person is the wealthy person. However you say it,
the meaning is clear, your health is your most precious asset.
Start now to improve your personal health habits this spring.
Resolve to:
-
Check that persistent low-back pain; sometimes,
this can be a symptom of a more serious condition. Caught early,
correction can be safe and effective.
-
Sleep on your side with knees bent or on your
back with knees supported; sleeping on your stomach can cause or
aggravate neck problems.
-
Improve your lifting habits. Don't lift with
your back. Bend from your knees, keeping the spine as straight as
possible. Don't lift and turn/twist at the same time.
-
Help reduce tension and headaches through
proper spinal care, exercise and stress reduction. Headache pain
can often be traced to spinal misalignments and muscular tension
in the neck and shoulders.
- Correct your posture to alleviate stress in the spinal column.
- Don't read or watch television in bed, or sleep with two
pillows.
- Prevent back strain during your daily routine by changing from
one task to another before fatigue sets in.
-
Have your children's posture checked by us for
early detection of any correctable physical deficiencies. Posture
examination during the formative years can help determine positive
future growth.
- Exercise regularly to strengthen your heart, spine, neck, arms
and legs. Ask us for instructions.
- Set a schedule for monthly spinal examinations to evaluate
your need for chiropractic adjustments.
By all means, concentrate on the basics that ensure good health;
if you smoke, stop. Eat properly. Exercise regularly. Even brisk
walking can help, but consult Bartell Chiropractic Life Center
before beginning any strenuous exercise activity. |
